Ashley knew she wanted a midwife and to labor in water. She considered a home birth, but she and Kate were concerned that the nearest hospital – where they’d have to transfer in an emergency –  was not a place they felt comfortable. So they looked for a hospital with a midwife practice that offered tubs for labor.  They settled on Swedish Covenant Hospital, about a 50-minute drive from their home in the north suburbs, where Ashley was able to labor in water and deliver her daughter naturally. Mature content: nudity, explicit birth images. Photos: This Is Family Photography and Film.
