Supporting You Postpartum
Postpartum chiropractic care supports your recovery by addressing stress in the spine, pelvis, and nervous system after birth. It can aid healing from diastasis recti and pelvic floor challenges while helping your body regain strength and balance. Care also improves comfort during daily activities like nursing, feeding, and babywearing, easing tension so you can better focus on bonding with your little one.
The birth process is powerful and incredible, but it is also an intense experience for moms that causes stress and discomfort that can last well after the baby arrives. A woman’s body goes through tremendous changes during pregnancy, from widening hips and additional weight to a postural shift of the center of gravity and hormonal changes. This is in addition to the extra energy needed to grow a baby! Because of all these components, it takes time and help for mom’s body to reach its full potential again after having the baby. Many women complain of their hip, back, pelvic, or wrist pain actually increasing instead of subsiding postpartum. This is often due to continued presence of the hormone relaxin causing joints to be more pliable, in addition to the more postural changes that occur postpartum. There is likely to be more stress and strain in the upper back and neck when you spend a majority of you time holding your baby, breastfeeding and/or feeding your baby. Chiropractic care will help you stay as comfortable as possible during this time.
Chiropractic Benefits After Pregnancy:
- More comfort while breastfeeding
- Greater production of breast milk
- Less incidence of postpartum depression
Infant chiropractic
During the first few years of life, a child’s neurological development is at its highest. How we support them during this critical stage of growth sets the foundation for their health and well-being. From the birth process (especially those that involved many interventions) to adolescence, children are exposed to a variety of physical, chemical, and mental stressors. Some examples of stressors include prolonged sitting in car seats/carriers, medications, bumps and falls, processed foods, and tablet usage. In our office we see many kids overcoming challenges, from babies to teenagers.

“It has taken me way too long to write this review but after my last two visits I believe this is the perfect time. I have been seeing Dr. Lauren and Dr. Wes since I was 12 weeks pregnant with my now 3-month-old daughter. I had a pretty uncomfortable pregnancy with some complications at the end and my prenatal chiropractic care is the only reason I got through it. I was going consistently 3x a week with a few weeks going EVERYDAY until this baby finally arrived. They are the most loving, kind, gentle, and understanding people who care so much about their patients.
This is why I brought my daughter as soon as I could get out of the house post birth. They are AMAZING with her. They have helped her deal with the issues that come with c-section delivery and have baby tummy problems. I can always see a change in her after her adjustment. Also, my last two visits my sweet little girl hasn’t been so sweet due to being overtired or off schedule and both times Dr. Wes has calmed her down for me when I felt like I couldn’t really get a handle on her crying. I have also been able to comfortably breastfeed in the office when she just couldn’t wait until we got home. If you’re a patient here you will also feel like family because that is the type of environment they have created. If you’re a pregnant mom or new mom you are in THE BEST hands (literally). I could go on and on but I just can’t say enough good things about my experience here. I recommend them to everyone I know.”
“I received chiropractic care from Dr. Lauren at Root & Bloom throughout my pregnancy, and I cannot recommend her enough! She really took the time to understand my health and pregnancy history during my consultation, as well as my wellness goals. Throughout my care, she was great about explaining what she was doing and why. My birth was quick and uncomplicated, and I attest much of that to my chiropractic care.
I continue to see Dr. Lauren for my postpartum care. Breastfeeding and stress have been hard on my body, and my weekly chiropractic treatments help to reset.
My two sons also receive chiropractic care from Dr. Wes and Dr. Lauren at Root & Bloom. They are incredibly gentle and fun, while making sure the kiddos bodies are in check.”
Rooted Chiropractic was a lifesaver for our son! We started taking him when he was 4 weeks old for reflux. We noticed an immediate difference after his first adjustment. He stopped screaming in pain, he is more relaxed and such a happy baby now. Everyone there is wonderful and has helped my son tremendously!
