MORE ABOUT US
Prenatal Services

We love to establish care with pregnant clients and their families to help get breastfeeding and lacation off to a great start, well before the baby arrives.

The private breastfeeding classes are offered both in-person and virtually to provide flexibility and meet your needs. In-person appointments are held in the comfort of your own home, and we travel up to 30 mins from Niles, IL.

Private Breastfeeding Class

This is a prenatal breastfeeding session with a tailored experience, touching on the impact of labor interventions on infant feeding and lactation, and heavily focused on what to expect during the immediate postpartum experience.

We will review your medical history, breastfeeding goals, discuss products and what items to buy (or not buy!) and help set you up with a plan for the early postpartum period.

About

After having my son in 2021, during the pandemic, I faced my own struggles with postpartum depression and anxiety. It didn’t help that the grief of losing my mom was bubbling over. When my son was just 13 weeks old, I reached a breaking point, and my aunt came to my rescue. She didn’t do anything complicated—she just mothered me. I held my baby, and she held me, helping me foster a sense of self-confidence and newfound identity as a parent.

At Rose Duffy Lactation PLLC, we want to help you foster your self efficacy as a parent. Just like my aunt did for me, sometimes it takes someone to hold space for you—so you can find your strength, your confidence, and your own way forward.

In terms of clinical experience, I have over ten years working as an occupational therapist (OT). My experience as an OT included supporting adults who had complex medical conditions – whether that be physical or mental in nature. I spent many of those client interactions with those living with terminal illness or nearing end-of-life. Currently I am a pediatric OT, picking up clients through the Early Intervention Program in Illinois.

I believe birth and death are two sides of the same coin. This unique background allows me to bring a deep compassion and trauma-informed approach to the perinatal world, supporting new families through complex emotions, grief, and major life transitions.

Testimonials

“Rose’s personalized care truly sets her apart. I connected with her when my daughter was 6 weeks old, hoping to increase my breastmilk supply. She supported my choice to use formula & work on combo feeding, unlike other LCs who pushed breast is best. Rose listened to my needs and provided specific solutions, helping me commit to a plan before our session ended”
— Former Client

“Those 7–8 days that we’ve had a full or almost full feeding have boosted my confidence. Also she loves her little occupational therapy exercises, especially the one where I balance her on my bent knees.”

“Rose saw me at the lowest part of my nursing journey and was nothing but attentive and compassionate, checking in with me often”
— Former Client

“Things have been going really well for us since your visit! A couple of days after you stopped by, she had her first full successful breastfeeding! She had a great latch, ate eagerly and stopped and unlatched when she was full.”
