SERVICES IN NUTSHELL
Star Legacy Foundation provides live, interactive, online support groups for families who have experienced a perinatal loss and for individuals experiencing a pregnancy after a loss.
MORE ABOUT US

Established in the spring of 2018, the Chicago Chapter of the Star Foundation is on a mission to support families who have experienced loss, while partnering with our local medical community to provide research-based education around supports and practices that will ultimately limit the number of stillbirths in Chicago and the surrounding area.

We are the parents, grandparents, siblings, relatives, and friends of beloved stillborn babies. We know the pain and devastation of losing a child to stillbirth and believe every pregnancy deserves a happy ending.

Peer companion program

The death of a baby is profound and impacts the entire family.  Professional resources may be available to you but sometimes just talking to someone that has been down the same path can be very helpful.  Our Peer Companion program coordinator will match newly bereaved individuals with a trained peer companion that has had a similar experience and if possible lives in close proximity.

Peers are available for the entire family from mothers, fathers, grandparents and more.  Every effort is made to match new individuals with someone with the same type of loss history as well if at all possible.

Support Groups Hosted by Star Legacy Foundation

At Star Legacy Foundation, we offer free, virtual support groups for families navigating the profound grief of pregnancy loss, stillbirth and infant loss. Our groups provide a compassionate, non-judgmental space to share your story, connect with others who understand, and find healing together.

Facilitated by trained mental health professionals with personal experience in perinatal loss and/or practice with an emphasis in perinatal loss, our groups are available in both English and Spanish. Whether you’re grieving the loss of a baby during pregnancy, shortly after birth, or in infancy, our community is here to support you.

Participation is free, confidential, and open-ended.  You are welcome to attend as long as you need and are welcome to attend any and all groups that feel right for you. To join, simply register once for each group you wish to attend.

You are not alone.
