Pelvic Health Physical Therapy

The challenges and stresses of pregnancy and childbirth frequently result in postpartum pelvic floor dysfunction, which can be debilitating and interfere with your quality of life. It is extremely common, but it is not normal. You do not need to live your life dealing with pelvic floor dysfunction.

Our pelvic health physical therapists will come to your home to complete a thorough examination to evaluate and assess your condition in order to provide effective strategies to help you manage your pelvic floor dysfunction using a non-surgical approach.

Conditions we commonly treat include:

  • Urinary incontinence
  • Pain with intercourse
  • Diastasis rectus abdominis
  • Pelvic pain
  • Pelvic organ prolapse

Pediatric physical therapy

Our pediatric physical therapists provide play-based therapy to help your child meet their goals in their home and community environments. We recognize that every child is unique. We utilize use your family’s unique values and goals to establish an effective plan of care for your child.

Pediatric physical therapy can be useful in helping your child meet their developmental milestones as well as managing disease or dysfunction related to various conditions.

TRAINING & CERTIFICATIONS
Jessica Kerr

Jessica is a founder and a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy. She received her B.S. in Kinesiology with an emphasis on exercise and health promotion and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Jessica is passionate about all things related to birth and babies and enjoys supporting individuals throughout their prenatal and postpartum journeys. Her interest in prenatal and postpartum care started after her own pregnancy. She successfully rehabilitated herself after a diagnosis of diastasis and was able to return to Ironman training and weightlifting soon after the birth of her daughter.

Jessica is skilled in working with individuals with pelvic floor dysfunction or those who are pregnant or postpartum. She is a trained Herman and Wallace pelvic health provider and obtained her certification as a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist.

Jessica also loves working with children and has experience treating infants and children in their home and community environments.

In her free time, Jessica enjoys running, weightlifting and racing long-distance triathlons. She has completed 4 Ironman triathlons, 2 half-Ironman triathlons and numerous olympic and sprint distance triathlons. Jessica believes that movement is medicine and is diligent in incorporating exercise in her daily routines.

Jessica LaRiviere, PT, DPT

Jessica LaRiviere, PT, DPT is a pelvic health and orthopedic therapist with years of experience in many settings. She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Simmons University in Boston, MA, in 2013, and before that, was a mechanical engineer for 7 years. She has worked in a variety of settings and locations throughout the country, allowing her to gain experience in the many complexities of healthcare. She has worked with people with spinal cord injuries, athletes and runners, elderly folks with dementia, and many others in between.

Jessie became interested in pursuing pelvic health PT because she believes in helping people with pregnancy, postpartum struggles, and health issues that may be stigmatized or less talked about. Jessie works to make her patients feel heard and empowered. She also brings a trauma-informed lens to her sessions, giving her clients the space to feel safe.

Jessie is certified in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), which utilizes full-body assessment and therapy techniques to treat the body as the whole, complex person.

Jessie loves to explore, and has traveled to many places including several months solo in Australia and New Zealand. She enjoys many outdoor adventures, trying new types of exercise and hobbies, and spending as much time with loved ones as she can.
