More about us

Caring Companion

The tender time immediately after baby arrives should be joyful, exciting, and an opportunity for new families to bond. At Birthways, our mission is to deliver knowledgeable, compassionate and non-judgmental guidance and reassurance as you learn to care for your newborn.

Postpartum care: Newborn Specialist and Practical Support

Sometimes just knowing the stuff of life is well in hand is all the peace of mind you need to enjoy a day with a shower, a prepared meal, a nap, and calm confidence. A Birthways doula can be a meaningful part of your support team while helping you avoid the risks associated with unmanaged stress and overwhelm that every new parent experiences.

Our postpartum doulas will help your family thrive as you welcome your newborn:

  • Day and/or overnight care, up to 24 hours a day
  • Nourishing meals, clean laundry, tidy home
  • Lactation support
  • Newborn care – one baby, twins, triplets – sibling care and new parent support
  • Pregnancy bedrest support or skilled support with complicated postpartum adjustments

We customize care schedules with each family: competitive hourly rates, doula matching and 24/7 administrative support.

Experience & Expertise

We know you might be sorting through options: baby nurses, night nannies, mother’s helper, infant care professionals, hiring privately, working with nanny agencies, relying on family and friends? Who are you ultimately going to feel comfortable with?

Birthways has been giving families exceptional postpartum/post-arrival care for more than 20 years. We’ve been the last stop when families have tried other options and the first choice for clients who hear about our programs from friends or other trusted sources.

Our Team

TRAINING & CERTIFICATIONS

Birthways has been supporting families for over 20 years. Our doulas are our employees, trained as doulas and certified or working towards certification. Our matchmaking process pairs you with a doula that will be a good fit for your needs based on training, experience, personality and budget.

Our lactation team comprises Board-Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) who lead our prenatal breastfeeding classes, offer phone support, in-home consultations and clinics.
