More about us
What is concierge medicine and why is it right for my family?

A pediatrician in today’s standard practice has a patient size typically ranging from 1,000 – 2,000 which means short, rushed, back-to-back appointments all day long. It is virtually impossible for even the best of pediatricians to provide the comprehensive, thoughtful care your children and family deserve. Crucial preventive care is rarely addressed simply because there is just not enough time, resulting in more sick time for your children and more time at the doctor’s office for you.

Concierge medicine will provide you with the time, attention and comprehensive care necessary to give your child the best health possible.

By eliminating insurance companies and all of the constraints they are able to place upon physicians, the focus at a concierge practice shifts from quantity to quality. At CCP, you will receive quality, personalized appointments with Dr. Weems, where your child and family will receive the time necessary to build and grow an intimate patient-family-doctor relationship that will be invaluable to your child’s total health and well-being.

CCP will likely appeal most to the following families:

  • Parents looking for the best personalized, comprehensive pediatric care for their child
  • Parents who are dealing with the challenges of a mental health issue such as depression, anxiety, and eating disorders; learning disabilities such as ADHD, and speech delay; and chronic medical issues such as seizure disorders, diabetes, food allergies, and asthma.
  • Small business owners whose insurance coverage includes a high premium even for standard pediatric care and could utilize CCP at the same or less cost
  • Parents who desire the convenience of conducting appointments in their own home

Philosophy of Care

I am a fourth-generation doctor so to say that medicine is in my blood would be an understatement! I have always known, with absolutely no doubt, that I was going to be a doctor. My grandfather, Bliss Weems, was the town doctor of Waynesboro, Virginia. At the time it was a town of less than 20,000 people. He practiced during a time when doctors were more than just doctors, but pillars of their communities, providing more than just medical care. So it has been instilled in me, for my entire life, how a doctor should treat their patients, their families, and their greater communities—by spending the time necessary to truly know their patients and their families, and develop the intimate, personal relationship necessary to know how you can provide them with the most personalized and very best medical care. That approach feels like it has been lost in today’s standard pediatric practice, where quantity has been prioritized over quality. At CCP, I will spend the necessary time with you and your children to fully understand the issue, then marry my medical training and knowledge with my own parenting experience to provide you with practical solutions, resources, approaches, and preventive measures to keep your family happy and healthy.

Personal

I am the parent of two rambunctious toddler boys and two teenage girls, so I understand the constant challenges of family dynamics! Outside of work I love spending time with my family, playing with the boys at our neighborhood playground, taking our dogs to the park, and a good movie night with us all fighting for space on the couch! My husband and I do our best to find time for ourselves and on the occasions we do, we enjoy traveling and finding new restaurants all around the city. And of course, I love the rare girl’s night out!
