Services in a nutshell

Fertility, birth, and postpartum doulas and holistic reproductive practitioners. Whether you’re pregnant and navigating your options for a natural birth, would like to become pregnant, or looking for that crucial support after the birth, Holistic Family Doulas would be honored to help.

More about us

We’re here to support you during your 4th trimester. Ease into your new lives together with support from your postpartum doula. From breastfeeding to sleep education to keeping your home tidy, we’re here to help you enjoy your newest family member without added stress.

Postpartum doula support can include:

  • Newborn care and education: Learn about typical infant sleep and eating patterns and how to swaddle, diaper, feed, and calm your little one with the help of your postpartum doula.
  • Day services: Keep the household running while you spend precious time with your little one.  Your doula can help with childcare, meal prep, and light cleaning, so you can give your attention to what’s needed most: your growing family.

TRAINING & CERTIFICATIONS

Lara Lasky

Prior to becoming a certified doula and a Certified Holistic Reproductive Practitioner, I had a long career as a public health scientist. Although it was rewarding work, something was missing, and I found myself yearning for more one-on-one connections and the ability to make a difference in the lives of families. Then my sister, an OBGYN and midwife herself, invited me to attend the births of her children, and I was hooked. Nothing compares to the moment new life comes earthside.

My own struggles with fertility, and my less than picture-perfect birth, have led me to believe that everyone should have someone by their side to ride the waves of emotion that come when you are working to bring life into the world.

These experiences led me on my new path.

As a new birth doula, I often stayed connected to the families I had helped during the birthing process, calling to check in and see how they were doing. This is when I discovered that new families need just as much support after the baby comes home. This is why I also offer postpartum doula services. With families living further apart, and in our busy modern lives, new families find that a little extra support is exactly what they need to get through those first weeks and months of their new baby’s life.

It is my great joy to work with families throughout their journeys into parenthood and beyond. Regardless of where the journey takes you, I am here to walk along the path with you.
