More about us

At Eastern Healing we take our role as part of your healthcare team very seriously. There is no more intimate relationship between the practitioner and the patient as when we are called upon to help with infertility questions. This is why we developed our P.A.R.E.N.T.S. Program™.

  • Our patient load is over 75% fertility related
  • We see dozens of new fertility patients each month upon referrals of Reproductive Endocrinologists and OB Gyns
  • We augment Western medical procedures like IUI and IVF with TCM to increase the likelihood of reproductive success
About The Eastern Healing P.A.R.E.N.T.S. Program™

P.A.R.E.N.T.S. Program™ addresses fertility in a holistic manner, incorporating various aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in a comprehensive approach to rectify any imbalance that leads to infertility. In this effort to restore the body’s proper balance, an array of treatments may be utilized which take into account the interconnectedness of all the things that need to be aligned for conception to occur.

Once diet, stress and anxiety are removed as barriers, acupuncture can be used to stimulate the normal hormonal cycles that let fertilization occur in the normal course of events. This program is designed for couples that want to become parents. Both men and women have a complex biological role in the act of conception. Modern living can interrupt these intricate processes at any point along the way. Acupuncture and TCM intervene to facilitate the proper balance of energy and blood flow that allows these mechanisms to function properly.
At Eastern Healing, we developed the P.A.R.E.N.T.S. Program™for our practitioners to create a structure to thoroughly review a patient’s personal history and perform a complete evaluation before identifying a course of appropriate action. All of this is discussed with the couple prior to initiating the full TCM treatment. Through this integrated approach we aim to restore normal reproductive capacity.

The diagnosis are as varied as the cases we see which is why each patient is treated as an individual and all P.A.R.E.N.T.S. Program™ treatments are customized to the needs of the couple involved. Although most of this discussion has been aimed at the female partner, we do see times when the male suffers from low sperm count. This too can be treated with TCM methods; including acupuncture.

About Our Natural Approach to Treating Infertility

Fertility is a complex human function that requires a lot of things to go right at the same time for fertilization to happen. In this process any interruption can upset the chances of fertilization. The foundation of acupuncture, and all of TCM is the promotion of normal flow of blood throughout body’s organs to enhance proper functioning. By unblocking the gates within the body that can impede this flow, acupuncture can help facilitate fertilization through a variety of techniques in both men and women.

Eastern Healing has seen this aspect of their practice increase over recent years as Peter Harvey has gained recognition among medical doctors that refer their patients to him for a natural solution before trying more aggressive pharmaceutical approaches to conception. East meets West in this type of professional collaboration to increase the effectiveness of women undergoing IUI and IVF treatments.

Just as the reasons for difficulty with any specific couple having trouble in this area is unique to them, the variations in treatment are also individually tailored to address their needs. The experience that Eastern Healing has gained over the years however becomes like a reservoir of practical knowledge for each successive patient to draw from.

Although acupuncture is considered “alternative” medicine in the Western sense, its principles are being increasingly recognized by the mainstream medical community as a rational option in addressing fertility challenges. The indisputable logic of seeking balance and harmony within the body as a precondition to anticipating success in the most complicated function of human existence is undeniable.

Initially, the holistic approach seeks to strengthen the patient by reinforcing the immune system and enhancing the overall health profile to prepare the body for fertilization. This improved strength and resistance to disease improves the chances of conception and later, when successful, it diminishes the threat of possible miscarriage. The process is focused on influencing proper ovarian function to establish effective and predictable menstrual cycles that make fertility a realistic expectation.

Ten Ways Traditional Chinese Medicine Enhances Fertility

1. Improves ovarian response – better egg production
2. Increases ovarian and uterine blood flow – stimulates ovarian response
3. Helps prepare the uterine lining – increased implantation rates
4. Improves sperm count, motility and morphology
5. Lessens the side effects of hormone treatments
6. Regulates hormones of the hypothalamus, pituitary and testicles
7. Decreases reproductive immunological reactions
8. Reduces uterine contractility at implantation
9. Resolves stress to promote relaxation
10. Reduces the incidence of miscarriage
