Level IIe Special Care Nursery
Our 12-bed Special Care Nursery provides advanced care for newborns who need extra support. Our Level IIe designation means we’re equipped to care for babies born as early as 32 weeks.
A Level IIE NICU is a Special Care Nursery that provides a higher level of care than a standard Level II NICU, specifically for infants born earlier (around 30 weeks) or smaller (as small as 2.75 pounds) and who may need brief ventilation. It offers all the capabilities of a Level II NICU, including care for infants born at 32 weeks or later who are moderately ill with conditions expected to resolve quickly, and those needing feeding support or breathing assistance for a short duration. Level IIE NICUs also have the expertise and equipment to care for more fragile infants, including those who require assisted ventilation.
