Maternity Care Overview
The Burr Ridge Birth Center is a center of wellness for individuals and families seeking empowering, holistic, and respectful healthcare. Led by our team of Certified Nurse Midwives, we aim to challenge the status quo of a healthcare culture that is often impersonal, rushed, disempowering and confusing.
Our approach to care is simple: we value and respect our clients as individuals with unique experiences, needs and expectations.
We celebrate autonomy and our clients’ values and choices. Shared decision-making and trauma-informed care is at the heart of our approach—it is personal, intentional, empowering, and transparent healthcare.
We aim to be an inclusive center where every client feels seen, validated and safe within our walls. We respect and honor all individuals regardless of age, race, ethnicity, religion/philosophy, sexual orientation, ability, gender expression, socio-economic status, or any other personal characteristic.
We acknowledge that family is defined by the client and welcome this family to be involved in our clients’ healthcare, pregnancy, and birth.
Our midwives prioritize evidence-based practices and recognize education as the foundation of optimal healthcare.
We know that pregnancy and birth are normal, healthy and intimate life events, and our role as midwives is to support, protect and guide laboring clients to a safe and empowering birth. We understand the importance of the birthing parent and newborn dyad, and honor this relationship in every aspect of our childbirth and postpartum care.
We are grateful for the opportunity to serve our clients and their families, and to create memorable and powerful connections and moments with you!
Our clients can pay for care in one of three ways — through private insurance, public insurance or self-pay.
Our office manager can run a verification of benefits to help provide you with the full description of your care benefits and what would be your client responsibility before you even choose to move forward with us. Transparency in affording care is just one of the ways we provide full informed consent!
