The Family Birth Place: “MetroSouth Medical Center’s Family Birth Place is designed to make your transition to parenthood virtually seamless. All of our private postpartum rooms include spacious bathrooms, walk-in showers, sleeper sofas, free-Wi-Fi, flat screen TVs and more. We also have room service dining and help you celebrate with a special celebration meal during your stay. Photographers are available to take photos our your new bundle of joy right in the comfort of your room.”

Support for new parents: “During the hospital stay, our nurses teach new moms the basics of infant care, from how to feed and diaper their newborn to when to call the doctor. To ensure a healthy start, our team of nurses and lactation consultants are available to assist mothers and babies with breastfeeding. No one will be denied necessary medical care due to lack of insurance or inability to pay. However, if you are uninsured you may be asked to pay a deposit when you’re admitted or when you register for an outpatient procedure.

If you cannot afford the cost of care, the hospital will make every effort to assist you in identifying and applying for any federal, state, or local programs that may be available to you. The hospital will also assist you in determining if you are eligible for Cobra benefits under any previous plan. In the event you are not eligible for these programs, you may be eligible for the hospital’s financial assistance program or free services.
