Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

If your baby is born prematurely, or is critically ill, you can take comfort in the care a neonatal ICU offers. Did you know studies show NICU Level 3 offer better outcomes for low birth weight babies and preemies? Our state-of-the-art facility offers critical and comprehensive medical care for at risk babies need to thrive. You have access to neonatologists, neonatal nurses, pediatric medicine, pediatric ophthalmologists, pediatric anesthesiologists and pediatric surgeons, respiratory therapists, imaging technologists, registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, pharmacists, lactation consultants, social workers, chaplains and others who are there to support you and your baby.

Community Support Programs

Better Birth Outcomes

When you’re pregnant, it’s important to know how to keep you and your baby healthy. The Better Birth Outcomes is a free and confidential program that offers support, education and access to important resources throughout your pregnancy. You meet with a dedicated Nurse Case Manager once a month (whether it’s at home or at your local Health Department office) who can help guide you. You’ll also get access to a variety of services from getting baby supplies to referrals for food assistance to transportation. In addition, Better Birth Outcomes provides helpful education about childbirth, nutrition, baby safety and more.

Family Case Management 

Family Case Management is a statewide program that assists Medicaid eligible pregnant women and infants to obtain health, services, and other assistance needed to have a healthy pregnancy and promote infant health and development. Our dedicated team will help you stay up-to-date on you and your child’s care.

Women, Infant and Children (WIC) Program

Proper nutrition is a key to keeping you and your baby healthy. That’s why the government offers federal grants to states to help take care of your nutritional needs. The WIC program offers moms and children access to healthy food, healthcare referrals and education on proper nutrition, which are all key to building a strong foundation for your family.

Family Connects Chicago

Family Connect is an in-home nurse service available to Chicago families with newborns. The service is simple: A registered nurse connects with you around 3 weeks after birth to check on the health of the recently delivered parent, baby and the whole family.
