More about us
Postpartum recovery

Pelvic Floor dysfunction can result in urinary incontinence, chronic pelvic pain, vulvodynia and various other conditions. We offer specific chiropractic joint manipulations that will stimulate the motion sensors within the joint and reflexively stimulate the nerves that control the muscles in the pelvic floor.

Newborn conditions

Colic: Colic babies show significant improvement in response to chiropractic care. If you haven’t heard about pediatric chiropractors, well, we have experienced chiropractors who are trained to work with babies and children. Remember, pediatric chiropractic care is a gentle, effective option to help relieve discomfort in colic babies.

Because the delivery process is very stressful on the neck and spine of your newborn, they could be misalignments in the neck and back that can be a huge factor in the development of colic. One of our experienced pediatric chiropractors will assess the baby’s spine and nervous system and perform a few gentle adjustments. The result will hopefully be a happy baby and of course a happier and relieved you. You will be guided about the number of adjustment sessions and follow-up process by our chiropractor.

Flat Head Syndrome or plagiocephaly is the distortion and flattening of one side of the skull, leading to an asymmetrical skull shape. Chiropractic can help. One study compared a cohort of babies all with deformational plagiocephaly, from the age of seven weeks with no hidden cause. One group used standard positioning techniques and tummy time to treat the plagiocephaly and had a 7% decrease in the plagiocephaly measure by 6 months of age. The other group employed the assistance of chiropractic as well as positioning techniques and tummy time and had a 23% decrease in the plagiocephaly measure by 6 months of age. By 12 months of age this measure was still 7% change for the first group and a total 30% change for the intervention group.

Infant torticollis can be a real pain in the neck for newborns. Does your little one have limited neck movement or keep it tilted to one side? These telltale signs could mean that infant torticollis is present. Early chiropractic checkups are a safe way to detect infant torticollis and remedy any troublesome neck pain.

Latching problems: We can treat latching problems by gently massaging the muscles of your infant’s jaw until they relax, so that the bones can be brought into proper alignment. Once this is accomplished, your baby should instinctively be able to latch properly and get their full amount of sustenance.

Hi, my name is Dr. Stephanie Maj. From my earliest memory, I had always wanted to be a doctor. A pediatrician to be exact. Through my undergraduate studies at Ohio University, I was a premed/nutrition major and just assumed my path was to be a medical doctor. After going through the application process, I realized that there was something that didn’t fit about me and traditional medicine. I decided against that career for reasons that were not fully formed in my mind and have since become crystal clear to me. After completing my treatment plan with my chiropractor, I not only healed the sprain in my neck from my car accident, my lifelong headaches went away as well.

After that experience, l decided that I needed to get my life moving in a better direction so off I went to Chicago to chiropractic school. Chiropractic school is a 5 year program, very similar to medical school except when medical students go into the hospitals, chiropractic students study the biomechanics, neurology, and function of the body deeper. I spent my last year and a half of school in clinics, helping the community and firming up my techniques of diagnosis and treatment.

I opened Community Chiropractic on April 1, 1996, my 30th birthday. I have operated a family-oriented wellness practice in  Chicago where i specialize in returning people back to health.  I am certified in the Webster Technique & Pediatrics from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.

My career objective is to facilitate health, wellness and recovery for patients with injuries and loss of function in their bodies due to accident, misuse, and illness.
